The guys at Comic Book Bin
have been endeavoring
to add more coverage of Canadian comics stuff
in their Canuck section.
Patrick Bérubé dropped me a line about two stories, a review of Captain Canuck vol. 2, the second collection from IDW of the series. And an reminiscing of Les Éditions Héritages, a small publisher that translated Marvel Comics in French for the Quebec market between 1968 and 1987.
Also with the IPad on the shelves now – for like a minute probably – they can add that to a market for a ¢99 iPhone App. “But wait there’s more!”, they made a video with the developers so you can see it in action for your self. good call.
Looks alright, i don’t know that i can say really. I’ve never designed an app! At a glance it seems a bit chunky visually but not sure what kind of control they have over that. I imagine that’s all skins or something like, probably easy to work on. Some nice features. Listings for the convention going crowd, a Google map store locator, and a full accesses to a searchable archive of the web site, so you can look up all kind of comics stuff. I don’t own an ‘I’ anything yet so can’t comment on this too much, but seems OK for a 1.0 at least. If anyone reading this tries it out, let us know what you think in the comments! They seem to invite feed back options as well for customer Support and gathering information on events and conventions. That’s a good start.
