Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, May 2nd.
Drawn and Quarterly will be publishing Jillian Tamaki’s SuperMutant Magic Academy this Spring. The collection of strips from the webcomic serialized online for the past four years, “paints a teenaged world filled with […] ennui and uncertainty, but also with a sharp dose of humour,” according to the publisher. As they have for the past several years, D+Q is highlighting some of their all-ages and kid-friendly comics with a special FCBD floppy. This year’s offering is a double-whammy, combining previews of Tamaki’s book and Kate Beaton’s Step Aside Pops. As D+Q notes in their solicitation, “Drawn & Quarterly’s FCBD showcases two of the best known women in comics today and is ideal for retailers looking to expand and diversify their customer base.”
