The Festival de la bande dessinée francophone de Québec (FBDFQ) is taking place right now and runs through Sunday in Quebec City. Tons of cartoonists, events, and exhibits surround the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec and other swank venues. You could do worse than spending a few minutes browsing their website http://fbdfq.com/ and looking at all the pretty pictures, including the poster designed by Julie Rocheleau.
The festival is also the occasion for a group of Quebec-centred comics awards, the Prix Bédéis Causa, which will be handed out at a ceremony on Friday. Here are the nominees for the prizes:
