Cartoonist Keith Jones is having a one-person show at Weird Things in Toronto. (The same space recently hosted a Michael DeForge show.) Jones is known for the D+Q-published graphic novel Catland Empire –which I reviewed awhile back– and for his tons of self-published comic books and zines, most recently a series called Morons. He also published a colouring book (!) through Koyama, a perfect meeting of his artistic style and publishing format.
I think Jones is a major figure in Canadian art, equal parts shamanistic visionary and goofball humourist. Jones makes a lot of different kinds of art, all the time. And he sells it for criminally cheap prices, which I expect will hold true of this show. You should definitely check it out!
