Sad news in Montreal today. Clement Sauvé, a young talented Montreal illustrator, lost his fight with cancer at 33 years of age.
Kevin Boyd posted the news this morning on the Shuster blog that he had passed away last night after a battle with cancer. Reading some comments from friends it seems he passed about a month after being diagnosed/beginning treatment?
Sauvé began his comics career as Yanick Paquette’s assistant, going on to work for DC and Devil’s Due Publishing. He was a Montreal native, born and raised. With big hopes and many friends.
On his site he thanks Yanick Paquette, Eric Canete, Dan Norton, Brandon Peterson, Mike Mignola, Kevin Nolan, Jim Lee, Carlos D’anda, Jean Giraud and Masamune Shirow.
“…who have with or without their knowledge, inspired and influenced me. When I bust my ass, it’s because those people have set the bar so high”.
