A new book collecting comics stories about Canadian working-class history will be released by Between The Lines Press in 2016. Drawn to Change: Graphic Histories of Working-Class Struggle is being compiled by The Graphic History Collective along with an editorial assist from U.S. writer Paul Buhle and includes the work of Althea Balmes, Sam Bradd, Nicole Marie Burton, Sean Carleton, Robin Folvik, Ethan Heitner, Orion Keresztesi, David Lester, Doug Nesbitt, Kara Sievewright, Jo SiMalaya Alcampo, Julia Smith, and Tania Willard.
Much of the work is available for preview at the Collective’s website. The Collective was previously responsible for the 2012 book, May Day: A Graphic History of Protest, which traced the development of International Workers’ Day, May 1st, through Canadian history.
