The curators of the ongoing public art space at Toronto’s Jack Layton Ferry Terminal have announced the newest slate of artists for their billboard mural project and it’s all cartoonists! The COMICS edition of the Ferry Terminal Billboard Project, an open air, large format art exhibit in the former advertising billboards at the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, will feature 9 local cartoonists with a Toronto Island connection in an exhibit called Gateways, “responding to the ferry terminal as a gateway between island and city, urban and rural, work and leisure.”
The exhibit features giant comic strips by Maurice Vellekoop, Georgia Webber, Jonathan Rotsztain, Rebecca Roher, Juliana Nuefeld, Ryan Dodgson, Caitlin Taguibao, and Keith Jones.
The murals are on display until May 2019.
The Lake Effect Projects is an artist/curator collective made up of Chris Foster and Daniel Rotsztain who are “working to create, promote & celebrate art on Toronto’s waterfront.”
