TCAF has unveiled their Kids Author Featured Guests for 2020! The one day special offsite event, TCAF KIDS DAY, which will put the spotlight squarely on books for young readers, in a venue welcoming kids and families!

“Comics for young people are some of the most exciting areas of comics publishing,” – TCAF Kids Programming Coordinator Andrew Woodrow-Butcher.

“TCAF has long had a commitment to supporting all audiences when it comes to programming our guests, but this year we’re pleased to have one of the most robust and exciting lists of Featured Guests ever!”

TCAF KIDS DAY will feature on-stage presentations Saturday May 9th, from 10am to 5pm. And signing sessions on both Sat May 9 and Sun May 10, at their publisher’s tables at Toronto Reference Library. Schedules for programming and signings to be announced in April.

TCAF 2020 FEATURED KIDS’ GUESTS AND DEBUT BOOKS FOR YOUNG READERS!

TCAF Saturday May 9 and Sunday May 10 you’ll be able to meet these authors, see presentations, and get your book autographed! There’s to be some live-drawing, storytimes, or other special presentations for a fun TCAF KIDS DAY! Programing aimed at early and middle-grade readers.

5 Worlds: The Amber Anthem by Mark Siegel, Matt Rockefeller, and Boya Sun, debuting. The team behind the smash-hit 5 Worlds graphic novel series will attend TCAF this year, to debut the much-anticipated volume 4 of the series: The Amber Anthem, from Penguin Random House Canada!

Graham Annable, debuting Peter & Ernesto: Sloths at Night! Graham Annable is an Oscar-nominated cartoonist and animator living in Portland, Oregon. He directed the awesome movie The Box Trolls! Graham is attending TCAF to debut his new graphic novel for kids, Peter & Ernesto: Sloths in the Night, from First Second Books!

Molly Brooks, debuting Sanity & Tallulah: Field Trip. Molly Brooks is the Brooklyn-based cartoonist who wrote and illustrated the Sanity & Tallulah series and many other graphic novels, short comics, and illustrations! She’s attending TCAF to debut the newest Sanity & Tallulah book, Field Trip, from Disney Publishing.

Don Brown, debuting Big Ideas That Changed the World: Machines That Think! Don Brown is the author and illustrator of many picture books and has been awarded both the Sibert Medal and Orbis Pictus Award. He attends TCAF to debut the newest book in his Big Ideas series, Machines That Think!, all about computers from ancient history through present day, from Amulet Books / Abrams.

Beth Ferry, debuting Fox & Rabbit. Beth Ferry is the author of many books for young readers, including Caveboy Crush and the New York Times bestselling Stick and Stone. She attends TCAF to debut her new graphic novel series for emerging readers, Fox & Rabbit, from Amulet Books / Abrams.

Amélie Fléchais and Jonathan Garnier, in support of The Little Red Wolf. Amélie Fléchais is an illustrator of comics and children’s books, and Jonathan Garnier is a writer and editor! Together they partner on the French-language kids comics series Bergères guerrières, or Warrior Shepherdesses! Amélie also has two books in English, The Little Red Wolf and The Lost Path, from Lion Forge and Oni Press! Amélie and Jonathan are travelling to TCAF from France, with the support of the French Consulate in Toronto.

John Patrick Green, debuting Investigators. John Patrick Green is the author of hilarious graphic novels about animals with human jobs, like Hippopotamister, Kitten Construction Company, and debuting at TCAF 2020, Investigators, from First Second Books!

Lucy Knisley, debuting Stepping Stones. Lucy Knisley is the critically acclaimed, award-winning, New York Times-bestselling comics creator of Relish and Kid Gloves, and the brand-new comic strip collection Go to Sleep (I Miss You). Lucy is attending TCAF 2020 to debut her first-ever graphic novel for kids, Stepping Stones, from publisher RH Graphic.

Metaphrog, debuting Bluebeard: A Feminist Fairy Tale. Metaphrog is the name that Scottish cartoonists Sandra Marrs and John Chalmers use to make their work! These award-winning creators have been making books since 1996, and TCAF 2020 will see the debut of Bluebeard: A Feminist Fairytale, from publisher Papercutz.

Jeremy Tankard, debuting Yorick and Bones. Jeremy Tankard is the bestselling author-illustrator of the Grumpy Bird picture books! For TCAF 2020 Jeremy will debut his first-ever graphic novel, Yorick and Bones, which he co-created with his daughter Hermione! Yorick and Bones is published by Harper Collins Canada.
