Canadian comics heavyweight Drawn and Quarterly have started their seasonal push behind some quite major books, so lots of links in this edition of the C-List related to D+Q.
Item! Kate Beaton’s Hark, A Vagrant! is shaping up to be Book of the Year, at least in terms of popularity and hype. An early review from Boing Boing. Also, Beaton has released a heartfelt little video in her trademarked humble style thanking her readers in advance.
Item! I mentioned awhile back that Canada Reads is inviting nominees for non-fiction graphic novels this year and it looks like D+Q has chosen to push for Louis Riel’s inclusion. You can vote for the book here until later tonight. As well, Zach Worton and Scott Chantler are asking for your consideration.
Item! One of the first reviews I’ve seen of Seth’s new The G.N.B. Double C.
Item! I’ve been telling myself to try and hold off linking to more stuff by the very prolific Michael DeForge, at least until a new book comes out, but there is a great interview at Squidface and the Meddler and a thorough critical overview at The Comics Journal courtesy of Rob Clough.
Item! Finally, Robin McConnell’s 6-year-old Inkstuds podcast takes things to the next level with its first video interview. Subject: Brandon Graham.
